EXCLUSIVE!!!! SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF COMMONS! Rt Hon Michael Martin MP Visits the School
Last Friday, the Rt Hon Michael Martin, MP for Glasgow North East and the Speaker of the House of Commons, came to visit Mr McGowan and his Podcasting/Blogging team.
Mr Martin spent a great deal of time with our S5 and 6 pupils discussing a range of topics - topics that affect the young people of our school, our city and our country.
We will be publishing our exclusive recordings ASAP.
Mr Martin does not give interviews, so it was a small coup for our school and our dedicated team who have contributed greatly to the success of the Big Roch Digital Project.

Saint Roch's Pupil Becomes MSYP for Springburn!
The pupils and staff of Saint Roch's Secondary are proud to celebrate the success of one of our star S6 pupils, Ikram Salad in becoming Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Springburn.
Ikram is delighted and now will attend a meeting in Dundee in early June.
Ikram's manifesto included: new youth clubs for the area, giving the youth of Springburn a voice in Scottish politics, committed to reducing the carbon footprints of the city of Glasgow and is determined to celebrate the racial diversity of our country.
So once again congratulations to Ikram, who deserved her victory and will be an asset to the new Parliament.
